Transparency

Transparency matters to us. We therefore intend to adopt the declaration of commitment of the Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft (ITZ, the German Transparent Civil Society Initiative) and have applied to be added to the ITZ list of signatories.

We commit to making the following ten pieces of information publicly available and keeping them up to date.

The Allianz Foundation is recognised as a charitable corporation by the Finanzamt für Körperschaften I Berlin, by notice dated 15 December 2022.

4. Names and functions of key decision-makers

Dr Christian Humborg represents the Allianz Foundation as Executive Board (Vorstand).

The members of the Board of Trustees are Sergio Balbinot (Chairperson), Emilia Macarie (Deputy Chairperson), Lauren Day, Michael Diekmann, Susanna Krüger, Prof. Dr Guido Palazzo and Dr Christof Schenck.

As of July 2026, 14 members of staff work at the Allianz Foundation. 10 are employed full-time and 4 work part-time. We also have 1 intern. There are no volunteers, community service workers or freelance staff.

9. Corporate ties to third parties

There are none. The Allianz Foundation is an independent foundation under civil law.

10. Names of legal entities or individuals whose annual payments exceed 10 per cent of the total annual budget

Allianz SE donated 5 million euros to the Allianz Foundation in each of 2023, 2024 and 2025. In 2024 the Allianz Foundation received grant funding of 0.963 million euros from the Climate Imperative Foundation. In 2023 the Climate Imperative Foundation funded the Allianz Foundation with 1.362 million euros.
