The Allianz Foundation works through people and places. Its Fellows are inspiring pioneers tackling the urgent challenges of our time; its Hubs are five pathbreaking organizations reaching across the European continent, from Prizren and Istanbul to Brussels, Palermo and rural Spain. Around them stands a wider community of risktakers — people and organizations who dare to commit to a world worth living in.

The network is where the Foundation’s funding becomes practice: from the Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts to the Movers of Tomorrow, ideas travel through people who carry them into their communities. The pages below introduce the network’s pillars — and the stories underneath show it at work.

In a time of democratic backsliding, climate emergencies, and social fragmentation, we are specifically supporting projects that go beyond conventional paths and offer innovative solutions to pressing societal and ecological issues. Democracies require independent, long-term, and sustainably financed journalism, which is crucial for publishing trustworthy content. The Media Forward Fund was launched with this objective in July 2024. The first funding partners have now been announced.
